The editors of Nature's Best Photography magazine invite all photographers to enter the Windland Smith Rice International Awards competition. The Nature's Best Photography concept began with simple yet dynamic goals: to celebrate the beauty and diversity of nature through the art of photography, and to use this far-reaching medium as a creative tool for encouraging greater public interest in outdoor enjoyment and conservation stewardship. The annual Windland Smith Rice International Awards program evolved from this ambitious mission to become one of the most highly-respected and visually compelling nature photography competitions in the world.

Categories include: African Wildlife, Animal Antics, Art in Nature, Birds, Landscapes, Oceans, Outdoor Adventure, Polar Passion, Power of Nature, Small World, Wildlife (outside of Africa), Youth Photographer of the Year and Nature’s Best Video and Film.
Entry requirements:
Anyone can enter the competition. The competition is open to professional and amateur photographers, however, the entrant must be the sole author and owner of the copyright and all other rights in all images. All photos must accurately reflect the subject matter as it appeared in the viewfinder. Nothing should be added to an image, and aside from minor dust spots, nothing should be taken away.
Entry fee:
$30 dollars per entry of 20 images.
Prize details:
All finalists will be published in the Special Windland Awards Edition of Nature's Best Photography magazine, on sale at the museum shops and on the website. The top winners are also displayed as large-format prints in the annual exhibition at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C.
