MontPhoto 2019 International Nature Photography Contest

Competition summary:

Welcome to the international contest of Nature Photography MontPhoto 2019, opened to amateurs and professionals from all around the world and organized by the MontPhoto Association.

Since 1997, our mission is to recognize the value, to promote and to broadcast the art of photography and to contribute to the environmental defense.
The contest rewards the excellence in the photographs. We want to see innovating and inspiring images. We look for unknown places, new visions of the living beings, surprising behaviours or reinterpretations of all that is already known. Your sight documents the diversity, the beauty, the mystery and the fragility of life on our planet.

AWARDS:
From the 109 selected photographs by the jury will be delivered cash awards with a value of more than 23.000€, distributed as follows:

General Awards
· WWF Grant: 6000€ and exhibition production (see grant rules).
· MontPhoto 2019 Honour Award: 2.000€ and diploma.
· The winner of each category: 300€ and diploma.
· Eight Highly Commended awards by category: Diploma.
·3 Special Awards: 300€ and diploma.

The Competition is open to amateur or professional nature photographers worldwide.
Each author can participate with a maximum of 25 photographs.

Category details:

CATEGORIES:
WWF GRANT: The aim of this call is to provide a grant of 6,000€ for the development of a conservation photography project.

A1-Mountain: Photographs which clearly reflect high-laying mountain scenery as any other element of this natural environment.

A2-Mountain activity: Photographs that show sportive mountain activities such as alpinism, climbing, canyoning, white waters, caving or any other activity related to mountaineering.

B1-Mammals: Mammals, at any stage of their life.

B2-Birds: Birds, at any stage of their life.

B3-Other animals: Animals, at any stage of their life, not included in B1 and B2 categories, such as amphibians, reptiles, etc.

B4-Plant Life: Plant species in their original habitat, including fungus.

B5-Landscape: Non-harmed nature landscapes, exclu¬ding the ones from A1 category.

C1-Underwater world: Underwater taken images (freshwaters or salted waters) of flora and fauna and habitat.

C2-Macro: Images taken with the technique of close-up photography, showing tiny nature elements or tiny details.

D-Ecological report: Images showing any element or activity caused by humans (or their consequences) that affects or interferes negatively over any natural area (wild fauna and flora, land, water, air, climate or the natural scenery).

E-Art in nature: Creative compositions or abstractions based in the nature environment.

Entry requirements:

Each author can participate with a maximum of 25 photographs.

· The first step is to register on the website: www.montphoto.com
· Once registered, the platform gives the option to formalize the inscription to the contest.
· Uploading the photographs will be allowed once the payment of the entry fee is done.
· The uploaded images can be modified at any time until the inscription deadline. Inscriptions will be automatically closed at 23:59 hours on April 30, 2019.

The image format must be a JPEG, converted to the colour space sRGB with the profile embedded. The file size must be of 1920 pixels in its longer side.

The organization will request the raw file of ALL the photographs that reach the final stage of the contest on June 11, 2019. From this date participants will have 8 days to upload the original raw files.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The participation is exclusively on-line. We only accept pictures taken by digital cameras (raw file compulsory).

ENTRY FEES:
The participation fee costs 20€, except for those under the age of 18 for whom the participation is free. The way of payment is via PayPal or credit card, following the instructions indicated on the website. The registration is free for photographers under 18 years old.

2.000 Euros and diploma

One award for the best photograph of each category:

A photographic experience with Photo Logistics and diploma.

All awarded participants will have a copy of the book ´Inspired by Nature 2019´ available at the Festival MontPhoto FEST, an invitation for the awards ceremony. In case you are unable to attend the Festival in Lloret de Mar (Spain), you can appoint someone else to pick up your prize. Outside Spain, only cash awards will be sent.

Participants under 18 - before contest deadline - can apply for any of the awards, including the special ones for under age participants. It is mandatory to present personal details of their legal tutors as the participants will be asked for supporting documents.

AEFONA awards given to the best photographs of its members in all contest categories.
Medals to all CEF, FCF and FAF awarded members.

Membership ID is essential to aim for the awards or special awards offered.

Terms and Conditions

LEGAL ASPECTS

Participants must declare they are the authors of each of their works and have all the rights over them.

Pictures where a recognizable or identifiable person appears (categories in which the presence of persons is admitted), must have the express consent of the person in question and a Copyright Release Form be attached to the image. MontPhoto will not take any responsibility of any suits made to the author that can be a reason of disqualifying that photograph.

Awarded and finalist works can be reproduced in books, catalogues, posters or any other printed or digital support, as well as distributing it to press and/or magazines writings for the promotion and broadcasting of MontPhoto, provided the author\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' name is always mentioned. The authors will disinterestedly cede the reproduction rights to the organization of the contest for its edition. This cession has a nonexclusive character but can be extensive to any reedition.

The organization will compensate the authors for the reproduced works with a copy of each published book. (International shipments not included)

All personal data from the participants will be treated with the maximum confidentiality by the organization according to the organic Spanish law 15/1999 of data protection (LOPD).

The fact of participating in MontPhoto 2019 edition implies the acceptance of all of these bases. The official rules are in Spanish. The organization can resolve any case not provided in them.
