Million Dollar Portrait Prize
Whether you’re a hobbyist, a professional, or just the person who snaps the pics at family gatherings because you know how to work the camera, everyone who takes a photograph has a common purpose; they have a story they want to tell. And we want to hear yours.
The largest digital photography competition in history, the Million Dollar Portrait Prize photo contest is here, and the theme for submissions is ‘portraits’. Entrants can submit a photo of any composition under this theme, where the subject is one or more persons, and their face/faces are the predominant focus.
Our contest is open to amateur or professional photographers aged 18 or over from anywhere in the world. As long as you can snap a portrait, you have a chance to claim the million-dollar prize - imagine that.
The theme of the photo contest is portrait. A portrait for this contest is defined as a photographic representation of a person, a couple or a group in which the face(s) and the expression is perhaps predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even perhaps the mood of the person.
The contest is open to all-comers. All countries and all photographers, amateur or professional, age 18 or over, are eligible to enter. The image entry can be in colour or monochrome and unlimited post-processing including multi layers is allowed. Your creativity is encouraged.
The entry fee for this contest is US$25.
Entries received without entry fee payment are automatically deleted.

Terms and Conditions
The contest is open to all-comers. All countries and all photographers, amateur or professional, age 18 or over, are eligible to enter.
The image entry can be in colour or monochrome and unlimited post-processing including multi layers is allowed. Your creativity is encouraged.
The photographic entry must be your own work.
You can enter as many times as you want. Use a new form for each entry.
You retain copyright of your work whilst granting Million Dollar Contests unlimited non-exclusive use of high-resolution pictures for activities in all media, including social media, in relation to the contest, and all promotional activities for and under the auspices of the Million Dollar Portrait Prize and any successor contest, without any remuneration being due.
You represent and warrant that submission of the image does not breach any law, and further that no third party holds any claims or any objections regarding the rights granted to Million Dollar Contests as specified in rule 5. You will hold Million Dollar Contests harmless of any claims from third parties related hereto.
The image can be vertical, horizontal or square - there are no restrictions, it's your choice.
Before uploading, the image must be sized to a maximum of 5MB. The image must be jpg format.
The file name of the image must be changed to show only the photographer's name, country and year of birth e.g. Johannes Brun Norway 1965.jpg

Employees of Million Dollar Contests, as well as immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of employees, are not eligible to enter this contest.
The contest will close 12 noon 30th April 2019 or when 120,000 entries have been received, whichever is the sooner subject to clause 16 herein. The prize money shall be 50% of gross entry fees received.
When determining the winning entries Million Dollar Contests decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into. Winners will be announced in this website and notified personally by email.
The Rules and any dispute, proceedings or claim of whatever nature arising out of or in any way relating to the Rules (including any non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by Western Australian law.
Any dispute arising from the Rules (whether contractual or non-contractual) shall be decided solely and exclusively by a competent court of Western Australia.
Regardless of clause 12, if at any time before the close of the contest the rate of receipt of entries significantly dwindle or cease and it is clear in the opinion of Million Dollar Contests that 120,000 entries will not be attained before the end date then Million Dollar Contests may at it's option extend the contest OR alternatively Million Dollar Contests may close the contest and award the prize money on a pro-rata basis. The prize money shall be 50% of gross entry fees received.
