Historic Photographer of the Year

Competition summary:

The second Historic Photographer of the Year Awards launches for entries on 12th June 2018 and is open to amateur and professional photographers around the world.

Following the huge success of its first year, the Awards seek to showcase the very best images of the world’s historic heritage and encourage the recognition of the most astonishing monuments and cultural sites on the planet.

Judging all entries will be a panel of experts including historian Dan Snow of History Hit TV, Head of HISTORY® Dan Korn, Chairman of The Association for Historical and Fine Art Photography Richard Everett and Duncan Wilson, CEO of Historic England. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held in November.

Entry requirements:

This contest is open to photographers aged 18 or over, of any nationality and skill level.

Entry fee:

Entry to this contest is free.

Prize details:

There is a prize of one thousand pounds (£1000) cash for the entry chosen by the judges; and there will be one “people’s choice” prize of two hundred and fifty pounds (£250) cash for the entry which obtains the most online votes from all eligible entries.

“Ancient History” Category: there will be one prize of one hundred and fifty pounds (£150) cash for the entry chosen by the judges.

“English History” Category: there will be one prize of an English Heritage experience tailored to the winner’s interests, location and abilities and one hundred pounds (£100) worth of Historic England publications.
