Our search for the Photographer of the Year is underway. Be part of this massive event – there are ten great categories and a top prize of £15,000 up for grabs!

The Digital Camera Photographer of the Year competition is the leading contest for anyone with a passion for digital photography and is open to both amateur and professional photographers of any nationality. Its aim is to reveal the most inspirational and imaginative photographers from around the globe. Last year, the competition attracted more than 81,000 entries from around the world. The competition is organised by the UK’s fastest-growing photography title, Digital Camera – the magazine for today’s photographer.

There are ten categories to choose from and you may choose to enter just one or all ten – and you can enter up to five photos in each of these categories. The submission and voting process is web-based so you’ll be able to track the progress of your pictures through this competition website.

The competition is open for entries until the end of September, when the category winners and overall winner will be selected by a panel of judges. The overall winner will get the coveted £15,000 main prize and be declared Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2008.

The Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2008
The title of Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2008 will be given to the photographer who is judged to have taken the most outstanding and memorable picture entered in the competition. The winning photographer will receive an incredible £15,000.

Category winners
You can enter up to five digital images in each of the ten categories. The prizes for each category are as follows:

1st: £1,000 plus a year’s free subscription to Digital Camera magazine and a year’s free membership to the Royal Photographic Society

2nd: £350 plus a year’s free subscription to Digital Camera magazine

3rd: £150 plus a year’s free subscription to Digital Camera magazine

Crestock Photography Contest 2007: Round 3

Round 3 of the Crestock Photography Contest 2007 is now open for entries.

Theme: Speed Demon
In this final round of the contest, we’re looking for photos that convey a real sense of speed – be it a person or object perfectly ‘frozen’ in mid-air, or long shutter speeds and motion blur used to exhilarating effect. And remember: it does not have to be traffic-trails or falling waterdroplets; originality counts too!

PhotoGalaxy is running a photo contest. The competition theme is “Motion”. This broad theme should allow for a wide variety of innovative techniques and subject matter. Entry is free.

The first place prize is a Canon EOS 400D. This is a ground-breaking new camera with a 10.1 megapixel sensor and Canon’s new integrated sensor-cleaning system. More prizes will be revealed soon.
