Festimage - International Image Festival (Portugal)

The City Council of Chaves, Portugal, created Festimage International Image Festival, with the aim of making known, both to the city’s residents and to everyone visiting during the summer, a variety of works by photographers and creators of digital art from all over the world.
Through this artistic and cultural display, the City Council of Chaves also wished to contribute toward bringing about the convergence of various peoples, cultures and civilizations, by making full use of current communication technologies and the way these so easily overcome borders, bring continents closer together and include all of us in the same global “network”;
All the genres, styles and concepts of Photography and still Digital Art any other type of non-animated artistic digital image shall be accepted, regardless of the techniques used in creating them;
There are no set topics (open topics);
Works must be sent in from 20 April to 25 May. However, the contest shall exclude even those works that are sent in prior to 25 May, if the large influx of competitors on the last day affects the normal performance of the server where the Festimage site has its domain;
On 1 June, the authors of the top 50 works, as voted by the Admissions Panel, shall be informed of their status as potential finalists;
The 50 authors whose works garner the most votes shall become de facto finalists only if, from 2 to 7 June, they resend their works with the technical features described under point no. 17;
After the finalists’ works are thus determined, they shall be put on display on 12 June, in the gallery on the Festimage site;
These works shall be randomly arrayed in the gallery, as the previous voting from the Final Panel shall not be considered at this stage;
From 13 to 19 June, the Final Panel shall vote for the top five works to be selected from among the 50 finalists;
The winners’ names shall be announced on the site, on 20 June;
The top five works, as selected by the panel, shall be awarded the following prizes:
1st - 5.000,00 €;
2nd - 2.500,00 €;
3rd - 1.000,00 €;
4th - 750,00 €;
5th - 500,00 €;
People’s Choice Prize
In parallel with its Official Prize, Festimage also includes a People’s Choice Prize;
The prize for the author garnering the most votes from the public is 1.000,00 euros;
