Where do you go to make all your cares in the world disappear? Read on to find out how a picture of your favourite hideaway - your secret playground - could win you a fabulous Canon EOS 400D digital SLR
When you’ve had enough, whether it’s work, family or friends who are driving you to distraction, you need to get away from it all. It’s vital for each and every one of us to have a place where we can go to relax and think. Somewhere that’s just ours, a secret playground that recharges our batteries and brightens our mood.
So come on now, where’s your special place? Is it somewhere quiet and remote that’s impossible for the uninitiated to find and which is full of happy memories? Or is it a bustling corner of the city, a rugged beach, a calm country spot, a homely pub or a restaurant that’s a well-kept secret?
Share your special place with us by sending in a photo of it and not only will you be revealing your little piece of heaven, you’ll also have a chance to win a fantastic prize: the best-selling 10-megapixel Canon EOS 400D digital SLR camera.
Categories
The competition is divided into three categories Outdoor, Culture and Entertainment and your secret hideaway will need to fit into one of these categories. You just need to come up with a photo that sums it up perfectly. Secret places come in all shapes and sizes, and one person’s ideal spot would make someone else run a mile.
Enter
Please tell us (in no more than 20 words) what/where your secret playground is and which category it’s in. The deadline is midnight on Saturday 23 June 2007.
Voting
The Independent will short list 10 pictures from each category (Outdoor, Culture and Entertainment). These pictures will then appear on an online gallery, where you’ll be able to vote for your favourite picture. The photos with the most votes wins. The online gallery will go live on Saturday 30 June 2007. Judging closes on Saturday 7 July, so you only have a week to vote.
Prizes
A best-selling digital SLR the Canon EOS 400D will be awarded to the winner of each category. The winners and runners-up will also have their work featured in The Independent on 29 July 2007.
